When I was a kid, I loved reading my Little Golden Books with my Uncle Pete. I couldn’t wait to pass on this grand tradition with my nephew so that he could start his own love affair with the written word. But when I tried to introduce him to the Poky Little Puppy and his quest for rice pudding, my excitement turned into abject horror as he immediately proceeded to put the vintage book into his mouth.
